Online Homeschooling
Introducing the Larch Package, a 12-week programme that has been carefully designed to foster growth and achievement in young writers. Our package includes one hour of personalised 1:1 online tutoring every week, providing a dedicated space for tailored instruction and guidance. This lesson will be recorded, so your child will be able to refer back to the lesson at a later time. Your child will also have access to three self-directed tasks per week, each designed to complement our 1:1 lessons, enhancing comprehension and practical application. With an average of 3 hours of self-directed learning per week, your child will have access to fully resourced materials, including PowerPoint presentations with voiceovers and support materials, allowing them to consolidate their learning and explore more deeply. While the self-directed tasks have been designed to be accessed independently, you have the option to purchase additional 1:1 online tutoring support.
Throughout the 12-week journey, you can look forward to monthly updates at the 4-week and 8-week marks, offering insights into your child's progress and the next steps. A final update is complete with a document showcasing your child's progress and personalised suggestions for their future learning.
With the Larch Package, you are unlocking a world of possibilities for your child, with a curriculum driven by high-quality texts spanning a rich tapestry of writing genres. Phonics Support
At Larch Tuition, we understand the importance of laying a strong foundation in phonics, which is why we have designed a structured teaching approach to ensure your child's success. We follow a systematic teaching approach that encompasses all aspects of phonics instruction, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience for your child.
Our package includes an initial assessment covering grapheme-phoneme correspondences, oral blending, segmentation, non-word reading, and common exception words. Once the areas for development have been identified, your child will engage in two 30 minute private online sessions each week, which will be tailored to their individual needs.
During the sessions, we will begin by clearly outlining the session's objectives and success criteria, setting the stage for focused and purposeful learning. Through regular reviews and reinforcement of previous concepts, we ensure that your child builds a solid foundation in phonics. Our teaching methodology involves explicit instruction tailored to your child's individual needs. From mastering grapheme-phoneme correspondences to developing essential skills in oral blending and segmentation, our sessions cover all aspects of phonics learning in a structured and engaging manner. Practice is key to mastery, which is why we incorporate interactive activities and exercises into our sessions. These activities are designed to reinforce learning, promote retention, and foster fluency in reading and writing. Your child will have ample opportunities to apply their phonics skills to real-world tasks, enhancing their overall literacy development. These lessons will be recorded, so your child will be able to refer back to the lesson at a later time.
In addition to our tailored tutoring sessions, we provide independent activities for your child to complete. These activities are designed to reinforce learning outside of tutoring sessions, further consolidating their phonics skills and promoting independent learning habits.
